DRIP 660 PCB SET
the drip 660 pcb set is a faithful recreation of the legendary Fairchild 660 compressor .
this design is not the wannabe 660 with chips and 6bc8 tubes . this is the real circuit with 6v6 tubes in the control amplifier
and 6386 tubes in the signal amplifier .
this design implements the Sowter line of signal transformers .
Hammond or Sowter power transformers and inductors may be used for the power supply.
no expense spared in the research testing and development . state of the art Keithley and Tektronix instruments used throughout testing and proving of this amazing design .
the pcb set includes all front panel control cards - hv meter / balance / meter select / attenuator / ac threshold and time constant main board pcb and power supply with the original vacuum tube high voltage regulator . most everything in the design is verbatim to the schematic except a dc heater supply for low noise operation and protection of the expensive 6386 tubes has been added.
the psu regulator uses the EL34 as the pass tube (as used in the 670) this comes as standard since the el34 is a new production tube and available - as where the 660’s 6BL7 pass tube is only available as NOS and has limited availability .
a 6bl7 psu is available on request after purchase ONLY - order will be delayed 1 week for the 6bl7 variant ,
